This Month the Script SPOTLIGHT is on...Vintage Western TV Shows!

The 1950’s were a breeding ground for popular inexpensive entertainment of the time and that was mostly the Western genre. During this time period you had shows such as THE LONE RANGER, HOPALONG CASSIDY, ROY ROGERS, GENE AUTRY. Later you had GUNSMOKE, MAVERICK and RAWHIDE. There were many others as well. A lot of famous stars go their starts from doing these shows and moved on to larger things like Clint Eastwood for example.

(Left) LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE (2 hr Pilot Pictured) Not really considered the typical Western but a series that took place on the Western Frontier and stared ex-Bonanza star MICHAEL LANDON.

As you can see there are just many of these available mostly because there were so many Western Series produced during this time frame. Plenty to choose from.
